A report on guest experience in the Middle East

Analysing 1.9 million online reviews, “Guest Experience in the Middle East” also indicates that Cyprus holds the #1 ranking. The number of online reviews in the global hospitality industry grew 321% in 2014.

Online Reputation in the Middle East

The number of online reviews in the global hospitality industry has exploded in the past two years. In 2014 alone, the total number of Middle East online guest reviews grew a whopping 321%. This is of key importance to tourism authorities, since guest reviews are now a primary driving factor in the success or failure of hotels and destinations.

The total number of reviews in the Middle East grew by 321% in 2014 and is expected to grow to 2.4 million this year.


The average rating per country

Although the UAE received the most reviews in the past 12 months, Cyprus is the highest ranked destination overall.


Value for money

Hotel cleanliness continues to be a strong point for the Middle East, but customer perception of hotel value lags in most countries other than the UAE.
